Water contamination could happen if DEF is exposed to moisture during storage, leading to diesel exhaust system issues. Using containers and funnels just for DEF can avoid any cross-contamination. Store diesel exhaust fluid in clean, sealed containers, and make sure that storage facilities are free from contaminants and dust. Protect DEF from exposure to direct sunlight since ultraviolet (UV) light can degrade its quality.
